3FL - Forever Fantasy Football League

FFL Playoff History

From 1992-1993, the top four teams overall made the playoffs. This caused some owners who lost hope of making the playoffs to lose interest. In 1994, all eight teams made the playoffs, but after the #8 seed Black Death upset the #1 seed Wicked Wizards, the format was modified again as to not undervalue the regular season. Two conferences were set up, with the top three teams in each conference making the playoffs, which was the format through the 1998 season.

For the lifetime league, beginning in 1999, the conference system was dropped. The league implemented a system similar to the NFL conference playoff structure. The #1 and #2 teams received a first round bye, with #6 playing at #3 and #5 playing at #4. For the semi-finals, reseeding took place just like the real NFL.

The league returned to its original four team playoff system in 2006.
